Haryana gets concessions on DG sets till November 30

The Haryana Government exemption from the use of diesel generator sets for 20 cases until 30 November was granted by the Supreme Court Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control Authority) (EPCA). Subjects:

Since 15 October EPCA has introduced the GRAP (Graded Response Plan for Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, and Gurgaon), which prohibit the use of diesel generator sets in Delhi and its surrounding towns. Nevertheless, the Haryana power service recently demanded derogation for colonies not connected to the grid and relying on DG sets until 30 November.

Moreover, five cases were also exempted until 30 November which is entirely dependent on the DG set as a consequence of the non-compliance of electric failures. EPCA however demanded that the Haryana Government ‘return the affidavits and details that the matter was resolved within 8 to 10 days by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.’

EPCA has also allowed the use of DG sets as a secondary source / safe for power disruption under some circumstances, under commercial institutions/industries. The body requested the power sector to ensure compliance with controlled supply and to direct industries.

According to EPCA, commercial organizations/industries must hold logbooks for DG backup sets, checked every four weeks.

Telangana’s chief minister to launch land portal Dharani today

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will open the land-based Dharani web portal in Muduchintalapalli District Medchal-Malkajgiri.

When the land web portal Dharani is released, the government will permit all transactions of property through the website, including registration and modification. Tahsildars and nayab tahsildars have already been trained to perform property registrations through Dharani’s land web portal by the government.

After Dharani’s preparations and amendments to the Revenue Act, the state government suspends property registrations from 1 September. In compliance with the new provisions, while the registration of agricultural land would be carried out by tahsildars of the respective mandals, the registration of non-agricultural estate would be done by stamp and department sub-registrars. In the meantime, the revenue department released orders to come into force on 29 October the new amended Act on Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks of 2020.
