In 2024, the government of West Bengal has revised the stamp duty for homebuyers in Kolkata and West Bengal. The government has finally changed the house and flat registration system following the RERA (real estate regulatory authority) guidelines, which means from now on flats and houses are going to be registered based on carpet area instead of super built-up area.
